Póvoa de Varzim Postcards

As part of the illustration module in World Academy’s graphic design course, we were tasked with illustrating three postcards about our hometown or city of residence. Seeking to represent my hometown, Póvoa de Varzim, as authentically as possible, I chose three main topics to explore, one for each postcard – its cultural connection to the sea and fishing tradition, its traditional festivities (namely Saint Peter’s), and its local food. Each postcard also features an excerpt from local folk songs that match its topic and illustration.
